I did not realize this was also by the author of Caddie Woodlawn! I read this book several times in elementary school, I was just so fascinated by it. I loved that this girl lived basically by herself in a huge house with a butler and maids and things, but she's jealous of her friend who is part of a huge family and lives in this messy house with broken tricycles all over the lawn.
