Somehow missed this one when I was a kid and got hooked on MHC. Very enjoyable, though a couple of the plot elements get recycled in later books that I did read. I’ll admit that the identity of the bad guy eluded me till late in the novel, so this definitely had some surprise elements (in addition to the many descriptions of people unwinding by changing into slacks and a cashmere sweater and putting their chestnut hair into a French twist).
