A decades-old secret threatens the lives of the four former roommates in this atmospheric thriller set in England both today and then. As a land-locked Midwesterner, I had trouble visualizing the complicated sea coast setting, but it wasn't necessary to the plot. Great book and well-drawn characters. Good beach read.

OVERRATED..Final explanation of motivations of the crime....disappointing and unbelievable...I simply found the characters actions and motivations didn't fit even the simplest common sense. Also main character very whining and annoying. Not much character development in the book. Characters thtoughout the book engaging in behaviors that are unrealistic and I had a hard time suspending my disbelief.
