The book has such a promising premise - two teenagers who are desperately in love enter into a suicide pact, one lives and one dies. However, the motivation for the suicide was very lame, for lack of a better word, in my opinion. The proposed motivation needed to be a little more.. motivating.. for me to believe.
It was still a very read-able page-turner book. Picoult is just one of those writers who can suck you in and make you want to read more and more.

This one took me a while to get through because I had the crappiest temp job this week and I just couldn't do that and cope with the heavy material in the book at the same time. I was all set to give this 5 stars, but I wasn't sure about the epilogue - I was expecting something to be addressed that wasn't. But all in all, Jodi Picoult does it again with another heartbreaking story that makes you think and sticks with you.

A heartwrenching, sometimes difficult read because of the central issue (not surprising though from Ms. Picoult). Definitely one of the best books I've read since picking up The Time Traveler's Wife last summer.

When it starts with a tragedy, how can it have a great ending? I enjoyed Picoult's way with words, but the story itself was a little close to home for me to let myself get too deeply involved.

It may not be Hemingway, but I couldn't put it down. It was like Law & Order in book form, and I loved every minute of it.

As usual with Picoult's books, an interesting conflict of ideology.
