I read this in French for class in college. It's about a man who is so divorced from his feelings that he kills a man without remorse, and watches his mother die without a tear. Its a very cold story, and reading it in my shaky French didn't help to draw me in.

Reading it strictly as a story, I didn't really like it. Life is not as "absurd" as this book makes it - or at least I certainly hope not and am glad to be ignorant enough not to recognize it as so.
