Potential spoilers
I think the storyline is fine, but seems very rushed. The kids go to school for one year instead of the normal four and are supposed to be exceptional enough to go into battle, whcih is not believable in the slightest. I think my biggest problem is that I am not emotionally attached enough to the characters to read the next book.
