3.5 stars This book took some effort to get into, but ultimately it was exciting and felt like it was worth a read. There is a lot of repetition, a lot of strong emoting that doesn't feel so genuine because there isn't enough back story, and a not very loveable heroine, but I'd say the plot gets full marks. I don't think the steampunk/fantasy/regency mashup went so well, as intriguing as it may sound- I just couldn't fathom a girl going from titled belle of the ball to vindictive murderess, even
