Steve's voice was strong and interesting, but the plot didn't work for me. It seemed like he just shrugged and bam! end of conflict with the astronaut. Um, what?

An amazing coming of age tale that takes place in the 90's in Texas and Florida. Steve York will draw in his audience by sharing his break-up, family issues, angst, and desire to be a non-conformist in highschool. Funny, sad, and clever.

if you were ever a teenager, you need to read this book.

I realized why I liked this book so much. It's the story of a first love between a boy and a girl and what happens afterwards. Though it's set in the early-mid 90's I think it's still relevant to today. Chapters alternate between the narrator's sophomore year in Texas and senior year in San Diego when his life is falling apart.
