so this book is kind of fun, but full of problematic holes and "huh's?"

vampires.

I'm not sure if this is dystopian or just fantasy, because I'm not sure if the world was always more vampires than humans or what. I mean, they still use horses as transportation, so that really didn't make sense...whatever it is, it's definitely this: The Hunger Games meets vampires. In the world of The Hunt, vampires are people and humans are practically extinct. Interesting concept, no?

It is at some point past the vampire apocalypse, and gene, our protagonist has managed to be born, be raised by his family and generally blend in with the vampire community by pretending to be one of them when in fact he is one of the most highly sought after, prized delicacies know to vampire kind- a real, live human. From this starting premise, I just couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy this story at all. ...more
