What Members Thought
This is lovely book that has been getting all of the stars and absolutely deserves them. Despite that praise and everything it implies about the strength of the novel, this story was a bit part to read with prose that is sometimes dry and deliberately distances the reader from the main characters. This is a story about girls longing to belong somewhere in a visceral and sometimes painful way. A very epic, slice-of-life, family story about the immigrant experience but also about the simpler story
