A perfect book? No. An excellent book? Yesyesyesyes! I LOVED this, but it's also just my cup of tea - mysterious, twisty, dark, occasionally confusing - more, please!
I read Pessl's well-reviewed Special Topics in Calamity Physics several years ago and was underwhelmed - so underwhelmed I can't even remember the plot of it. Ooh, this one is hard to rate, because different elements varied wildly in their quality.

Yet another book where the lingering feeling is relief it's over. There were some interesting parts but it just dragged on for so long it lost me.
