This book kept me guessing till the very end. I repeatedly thought I'd puzzled out what had happened to each of the characters, but I was wrong. Some things I did guess, but definitely not all. It definitely kept me engaged.

Great story with a kicker of a plot twist toward the end. Never saw it coming. I learned a lot of fascinating information about elephants, and gained a whole new respect for them. I can't recommend this book highly enough! I love the way the publisher includes discussion questions and a question and answer session with the author at the back of the book. I'm giving this 3.5 stars. I absolutely loved the story...I found the elephant information fascinating and did many-a-Google whilst reading away. The ending was definitely NOT what I was expecting, and I don't know if I loved it or hated it (hence the 3.5 stars instead of 4). Of course I would have preferred a happily-ever-after.
