Oddly this is the second book involving the survivor of a child kidnapping having to deal with her abductor that I've read in the past couple of months (the first was the bad Alone by Lisa Gardner). This one wasn't as bad as that one, but was still disappointing, and I'm quite surprised at all the praise for it. The writing is good, but the plotting was nothing special, and the reader waits for/expects a big payoff that never materializes. Disappointing. ...more
