This would be five stars if there was going to be a sequel for sure. As a standalone, the ending isn't satisfying enough. (Yay, there will be a sequel! So, upgraded to 5.)

I’m kind of over torture as a trope to get me to care about a character, or two. It had great potential, and if you can get through the abuse I think it’s a good successor to Hunger Games, except set in a school. I couldn’t finish it myself.

I really liked this unique world and the centrality of a variety of female characters. In the end, this just fell a bit short of 4 stars because there was so much packed in, and a fast resolution of some complex problems.
