The fourth star is sheerly for audiobook merits - definitely a good production. The story is great fun, while still feeling like solid historical fiction. Jacky starts out as an orphaned street kid in London, and we see the way the kids fight to survive, and the way others make a living by selling the bodies of dead street kids to surgeons to practice on - definitely a grim start. Life on the ship, by comparison, seems like heaven to Jacky - a place to sleep and three meals a day. Of course "the
