Girl raised in creepy utopian/dystopian society falls in love with outsider boy? sign me up!!! That's my book crack, right there!!!

This was a fun book that had a lot of flaws. Spoiler tags are used for extremely mild spoilers, so if you're curious, go ahead and read them. I won't give away any of the big plot twists.

Good stuff: I really enjoyed how the author came up with new names for media we use today! Facebook became Forum, Google became GoSearch, Wikipedia became Panopticon, Apple became Gn

This started out strong and I liked the character development, but ultimately there was just too much going on. And seriously, if you're going to use real places, do your homework: no resident would ever, EVER say "south side of Boston". It's South Boston. And it is not 1/2 mile from Back Bay Station to BPL. More like 150 yds or so. ...more

In the future we'll be even more attached to our mobile devices. That's a given. This book explores that future, showing some of the dangers of relying too much on Lux (a Siri-like app that makes decisions for people) and relying too little on gut instinct and intuition. That alone made this a good read.

But the plot, complete with an organization secretive enough and dangerous enough to outdo Skull & Bones or the Masons in terms of influence? That's what brought this down from a solid five. May
