It's difficult to say too much about this book without giving something away. Another difficulty was putting the book down. It was a fascinating look at a child and a family in crisis, from the point of view of the father. Andy Barber is the assistant district attorney in a small town in Massachusetts. A middle school boy is found dead in the park and evidence points to Andy Barber's 14-year-old son, Jacob. The love this man has for his son is evident on almost every page, but the guilt he feels

I saved this for our mini-vacation last weekend and could hardly put it down. It's very well-written and compelling; I think this is the kind of book John Grisham only wishes he could write.
