Reading this classic novella is a Christmas tradition for me, one that I’ve adhered faithfully to for the past seven years. And it seems as if, with each passing year, this little book resonates more and more deeply with me. I believe that Dickens was divinely inspired in the writing of this story. I should state right away that I am not a huge fan, I have never managed more than a page or so of a Dickens book before. This one is mercifully short and I read it over the Christmas holidays which helped to add the the atmosphere.

I had to admire the skill of the author in crafting and moulding the idea of Christmas as a season of joy, goodwill and inclusivness, so much of what is important in our modern idea of Christmas began on these pages. It is packed with gems.
