I didn't really understand the point of this story. Meant to be a retelling of the Little Mermaid, but the mermaid could have been any monster. Her being a mermaid seemed to have no relevance to the actual story.
The language was annoying. Clearly the author loves her thesaurus, because there are many times that the wrong word is used (though I get the meaning). Also just the most obscure words. Some sentences took me out of the gore because they were so preposterous it made me laugh. ...more
