What Members Thought

This is one of the best books I've read in a while. The concept is really bizarre, but incredibly gripping. The setting was stressful, and the author made sure you felt the discomfort of the sand. The characters were both quite flawed, but you felt empathy for their horrible situation. The main character would often go into a long tangent about some topic, which was very well crafted by the author to make you feel the deterioration or improvement of his mind.

This book was an interesting experience. Half way through I started to feel that his struggle against the absurdity of digging every night to keep the sand at bay because he was living in a sand pit was eluding to that all life is as tiring and meaningless. Which sometimes I feel. I appriciate this book for what it was doing, and I get that the woman wasn't a real character but an object for the main character to express his internal struggle. :// a tedious read tho
