I really enjoyed Lisa See's first book in this series. I honestly did not think the second would be as good as the first since they rarely are. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not just as good but better. After traveling to China a couple of years ago my fascination with the culture has been peaked. However, I think anyone would find their traditions and cultures interesting without having to visit. You can also read this second book without reading the first but dont miss out on

I really liked this book. It was not what I expected at all. It was a very good story and it was very interesting to learn about the ancient Chinese culture and customs.
