I loved this book.
From all the great press it received, I knew I'd enjoy it, and within the first few chapters I was really engrossed.
It was about a third of the way from the end that "Water for Elephants" moved me to tears, and that was around nine tonight, as I was reading with the anticipation of going right to sleep. It's now a quarter past eleven and I've just finished the book. I didn't want it to end.

I really enjoyed the protagonist in the book and was surprised with how much I enjoyed this book. Sorry I put off reading it for so long.
Loved the humor of old Jacob lamenting about his life in a nursing home, and loved the suspense and grittiness of riding the circus train in the 1930s. Just a really excellent novel.

I really didn't care for this book and at one point, I was going to stop reading it. I've only done that once in my life! I'm not sure I can put my finger on why I didn't like the book. I think I just didn't really care about any of the characters, except, perhaps, the elephant. I have to say I was glad to finish.

loved this book! I read the whole thing in 24 hopurs. Pretty impressive since I had to sleep (a little) and take care of the kiddos in that same 24 hours. i loved the story line and the character development. I would definitely read this one again!
It's hard to say what I loved most about this book. It starts out with someone being killed, but it's a wonderful love story and a mystery and just an amazing all around book.
