I really liked this book - it was a fun "project" book.
First of all, I am always open to ways to improve my general happiness. Gretchen Rubin acted as an excellent guide. Second, the book was set up in a format (each chapter = a month) perfect for reading by-the-month and focusing on each "resolution" as you learned about them. Third, combining the first two points, this book helped me delve into certain aspects of my life in a non-corny, not-too-spiritual but instead,in a down to earth, back t ...more

I loved this book. I've been following Gretchen's blog for over a year and didn't think I would be interested in reading the book. After reading an online review I decided I would check it out. I'm so glad I did. I saw myself so often as I was reading; I laughed; I put LOTS of post-it tabs on pages; I typed up notes. I loved her voice, her unfailing honesty, and so many of her resolutions and ideas resonated with me.

Oh my how I loved this book. It was inspiring, it was funny and it was informative. I love it and think it's the perfect read for January, when we tend to make resolutions.
Re-read this book in January 2011. Continued to be inspired by the topic and actions taken by the author. Did find her to be a little self-righteous at time. I think this transcends the genre of self-help and memoirs and is a practical book for those looking for more happiness. ...more
