Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I originally received the ebook but ended up listening to the audiobook later on. In hindsight, I might’ve connected more if I’d stuck with the ebook. This book brilliantly combined horror, mystery, romance, fantasy and dark academia with some gorgeous illustrations and very good writing.
It was a very very visual read in that the scenes literally played out in my mind as they happened in the book.
The vulnerability of the main characters was brought out very nicely and given the themes it explores, it was a lot more emotional than I expected and that was a great thing.
I read it in a single day and really enjoyed it.
