I suspect that Everything, Everything is meant to open one's eyes about the importance of living a full and meaningful life. There are hints of it...but, not really. It was a fast and entertaining read. A little superficial. I personally think it would've packed more punch if it ended differently. Teens/YA readers don't need everything resolved at the end of the book. ...more

I liked this predictable, sappy, bland book. I liked Maddy and Olly, they were both completely ordinary. I liked Maddy's nurse the best, she was the wild card. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who didn't like A Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and even some who did, depending on why the liked that book.

A reread for me. I like this book. Maddy was supposedly allergic to anything outside of her sterile home environment. Her mom even went to the expense (with settlement money) of making one room sterile, but just as if Maddy were in the out-of-doors with a stream, wicker furniture, trees & fake fish in the water. Her diet was controlled by her mom , schooling was by Skype (in person on occasion if teacher had been decontaminated), & she never left her home. Then Olly moves in next door. I would h ...more

This YA novel started strong, but a couple key characters seemed unrealistic, and the last forty pages didn't seem in sync with the rest of the book. I would recommend this to people who liked Eleanor & Park and/or like fast-paced YA romance. ...more
