3.5. This was a little slow to start; the "dark secret" mentioned in the back copy doesn't become a thing until about halfway through the book. I hosted a Teen Book Club discussion on this, and one of the teens felt Carr was too perfect, and overall, everyone wanted more explanations of the world Lee created.

Sorry - this was not my kind of book. I'm sure male teens will eat it up, but I couldn't wait to finish it. Zeroboxing is too far fetched to be interesting. The fights in the Cube were intense and well described. The romantic element with Risha was not very believable - too much, too fast and not developed well. ...more

It's really well-written and plotted, with good worldbuilding. I couldn't care less about boxing, and I still enjoyed it, so any sports fan at all will probably love it. ...more
