Yeah, I'm calling it. I'm not finishing this. It's a fine book, and I'm sure teens will enjoy it, especially if they're looking for something after The Hunger Games/Divergent, but I just don't care that much. I feel like I can safely predict the arc of the entire series because I have already read this book like ... six times.

First, let me say there is a second book, so don't be upset when this book ends abruptly.
Second, like other reviewers I too felt like this is a rehashed tale of many told before. However, most YA novels are. I don't think Victoria should be docked for revamping what is basically x-men combined with the hunger games. It's okay to retell a known story in your own way.

It has been a while since I've read a book I really enjoyed until I finished this one. It kept me guessing which I enjoy in a book. I don't like it when I can predict a plot or it's the same tired plot over and over. This book is being compared to Hunger Games, but the only similarity is it's dystopian where the rich are oppressing the poor. Other than that, this book is unique with a very good plot. The characters are well written and I can't wait for the next one.

This was very well written and I enjoyed reading it very much. However, I saw the twist coming a mile away. And there were a lot of similarities to other things I've read and/or watched. It was a fun read though. I'll most likely seek out the sequel, perhaps even the prequel.
