So, basically, everyone is an asshole. This first volume is just all about how the main dude was a total dick all the time (and so was everyone else!). I'm planning on reading the second & third volumes for the YALSA Hub Challenge, so it'll be interesting to see how the story continues now that the characters are high school seniors.

Also, whyyyyyyy didn't the girl have a sign language interpreter at school?? (I have a feeling the answer is probably Japan, not America)

Devastating and realistic depictions of bulling. Shoya is a strong main character and his story line is fully fleshed out, but I am not sure how I feel about the Shoko character. I hope that the future volumes either split their focus between multiple POV or find another way to give her more depth.
