It was okay. Favorite pic - small boy with basketball. Least favorite - anything with crude words (tagging, shirts). If this is New York, then I never want to go (have never been). Very few people looked happy or like they cared about themselves. What was advertised as stories with photos, was more like photos with "..as seen in -----" beside the photo. There were very few actual stories. 2008s Oxford Project (Bloom) was a photo story done so much better.

An excellent book. I loved the way he arranged the images and stories, and I love how broad an array of experiences we see in this book. The stories in here are lighthearted and heartbreaking and everything in between. It's amazing to me how many of these people open up to Stanton, as well as the way he captures them in the photos: hope, resiliency, despondence.
