I really enjoyed this novel. It was an interesting start with someone from World War II to be transported into a fantasy world. The pace is fast throughout, and the main character is an idiot. But who isn't as a main character in an epic fantasy? The magic and dragon concept is very interesting. The old man keeps a lot from the main character, some seems like he could tell more, but I understand the author doesn't want to give too much away.
