Important topic covered by a well-meaning surgeon. I wish it had been a little more medical than melodramatic, especially in terms of clarifying pleasurable sex or any masturbation at all for the lead character. (Sounds weird, but she's drinking and clubbing throughout the book; I don't think the sexual topics, which are more pertinent to the subject, are any more taboo.) Characters' functions in the narrative are rather painfully obvious from the get-go, but it could be a lot worse. ...more
