The description of this book was intriguing, the book not as much. This is the first of a series, one might expect to learn about the main character's history, why they are like they are, what informs their actions and responses. Sadly the characters were one-dimensional, not very likable, and didn't leave me wanting more. Some parts of the mystery were fairly predictable. I love Euro crime and am always on the lookout for a new series. The Square of Revenge is the first of the Belgian Assistant Commissioner Pieter Van In mysteries. There were a few small issues but overall I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more as soon as they are translated into English.
