What Members Thought

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it this book. The prose is elegant and engaging, even in English translation. The plot is practically non-existent, and, I think, mostly allegorical. The themes are plentiful, but the tools of exposition are rather dated. The character sketches are limited yet full of deep insight. The book is both hopeful and sad. Mostly sad, I think.
