What Members Thought
I have to think about the book a lot because I have pretty mixed feelings about this. I think I don't vibe with existentialism philosophy properly which is probably why every existentialist philosophy book(except crime and punishment) gives me a pretty hard time understanding them properly without the least prejudice. Ce livre reflète, selon moi, le cynisme d'Albert Camus face à l'impuissance que la vie, au tout profond d'elle-même, est dénuée de sens. Camus, à travers cette réalisation, développa ainsi son caractère Meursault, qui mène sa vie dans la plus grande indifférence mais semble toutefois reconnaitre l'absurde en elle-même (par example à l'indifférence quand Marie lui proposa le marriage). Incredibly light, almost irreverent if read at face value. Explores the meaningless (and meaning?) of human life. The absurdity of it set against the idea that the only certainty that everybody faces it death.
