This was certainly an unusual book. It kind of reminded me of a Wes Anderson film--I experienced it, I had a few laughs, I wondered what just exactly happened??? All in all, it was OK even if the premise is fairly fantastical. Two middle-ages men, a photographer and a journalist, are driving through the countryside one day and hit a young hare. The protagonist renounces his responsibilities to live a life in the wild. He takes short-term labouring work to survive, but finds the manual jobs fulfilling and his care for the hare purposeful.
