Oh wow, what a book! What a writer!

The Rainbow is largely...or entirely...a character-driven novel, so if you don't like that, it might not be your cup of tea. There is a plot, but it is largely there just to bring various emotions to the forefront. For me, it was brilliant, and I didn't want it to ever end.

I thought this was just excellent. I had a lot of ideas as to what Lawrence was about, and after reading Sons and Lovers, I thought I'd confirmed them, but this one really changed my mind.
