I’m not sure what to think, actually, Goodreads. That was odd. I quite enjoyed the first half - though I didn’t really understand what was going on, it felt like we were going somewhere. Like some poetry that I don’t understand but still like, it was fun to let the words sort of wash over me. Then it got a bit boring because it felt like we stopped going onaywhere at all. I feel weird rating this one... I have never read Beckett before and must admit I cheated a bit and read this side-by-side with a companion reader in order to try and make some sense of it. I don't think I succeeded, but I guess the try counts, right?
I still have no real idea of what was going on here, but I liked it. I felt oddly hopeful while reading (don't ask why, seriously I have no idea), and enjoyed the lilt of the minimalist wording.

My first Beckett. Never read any reviews or description of the book before I dove in. At times I was caught up with the rhythm and wordplay, other times the words fell flat and seemed pointless. Felt like watching water swirling down the drain or watching a leaf tumbling in the breeze. Will give this one a re-read and speak the words out loud to hear the rhythm of the words. Maybe then I'll get it...maybe not.
