In many ways this story of two men separately engaged in fruitless searching for someone is bizarre and puzzling, like a fever dream. Beckett is clearly a master of language, and yet . . . what was the point of these nearly 200 pages? As with his other works, perhaps, a funny-bleak view of the human condition, in both its savagery and foolishness. This is a book that needs to be re-read, so I shall have to come back again to it with the help of wider reading.

This is part of the trilogy by Samuel Beckett written in French and translated by Patrick Bowles. There are two parts to Molloy but the second part could even be a prequel to the first part. The first part which features Molloy has two paragraphs. The first is shortest the second is nearly 80 pages. I listened to the audio which I think makes reading this type of literary work easier.
