Anne Bronte told this story very well and I enjoyed "reading" it via the audiobook told by Jenny Agutter et al. I liked it better than her sister Emily's "Wuthering Heights" and about equally as well as her other sister Charlotte's "Jane Eyre". It was long for my taste but listening to the audiobook and taking my time made that tolearable. What was rather shocking for mid-19th century readers is rather tame now, but the trials of the characters did hold my interest. ...more
