Well, book number TWO of The Guild Codex: Unveiled, The Long-Forgotten Winter King was finally UNVEILED *wink wink* 😉, & I could not have been more pleased with the reveal! This book may not have had the most original tropes, but the world building, & character development we gained through this second installment is absolutely unrivaled, & the visual imagery is pure mastery; Marie's depictions of the Fae are absolutely breathtaking !

3.5 stars but rounded up this time. Narrator was great as always.
Unveiled is still my least favourite of the Guild Codex world. That isn't to say it's bad because its still a great series.
I liked how this one started, 4 days after the last book with Saber lost with gaps in her memory after the trauma of the end of the last book. The learning more about who Saber is and where she came from was great. The flashbacks were well done and had rather perfect placement in the story.

Gods, why was Saber such a non-stop bitch in this one? I’m almost stopped reading several times bc her attitude just killed the story for me. I wish this book would have been from Zak’s pov instead of hers bc she was just miserable.
On a separate note, what happened to her job? And taking care of the animals at the rescue? She just kind of disappeared there for awhile…

Fun, but that final sentence is such a tease! Can't wait for the next one (and hoping for some cameos).
