I loved this book. I read the chapters as they were released online and have read it again as the published book. It's an amazing book. I was always a fan of Arland and then of Maud and Helen who were introduced in the last book.

This book takes place on Arland's home planet and introduces the reader to an insight into the vampires lives and Mauds past.
I loved Arland and Maud's chemistry and his love for not just Maud but also Helen.

while the story is good and the next logical choice of tales to tell after the end of the 3rd book I kept waiting for the Innkeeper to show up in the Innkeeper Chronicles and she never really did (except at the one spot we already know about). i love the writing of these authors and the universes they create but at times it is a lot to keep up with
