While this may be a ghost story, I found it to be a very sad story. I suppose all ghost story's have roots in sadness. There were chilling moments for sure. But the sadness overwhelmed me, it took away any fear or creepiness that there was. Perhaps that was the purpose of this ghost? To make us sad. If so, she did a good job. Thanks a lot woman in black instead of making me scared, you make me want to curl up in my bed and be depressed for the rest of the day. ...more

Scary stories and the horror genre have never been my thing.
This one is a ghost story.
It was an okay story but it has not really moved me in any way.
I liked the dog I guess....

I have read a lot of books that are considered 'horror' but there haven't been a lot of books to actually give me the creeps. I was expecting that this book would be creepy, and I was in the mood to read something very dark and scary. The beginning was a bit slow, and nothing happened much but I can't say that that bothered me too much. There was such a good buildup and the ending just blew me away even though it was a bit predictable. ...more
