I read this with a few people on Instagram for a buddy read. They helped make the reading enjoyable for me and also helped me because I’m a scaredy-cat. Having their assurance that it wasn’t a scary horror book like The Exorcist movie helped.

Grady Hendrix is a new-to-me author and is quickly rising to favourite. He has a wonderful way of mixing horror, comedy, camp, that results in a story full of heart.

I tried. Got 4.5 hours into the story and just couldn't take it anymore. Perhaps teen problems are not interesting to me. I just really have a strong dislike to stories that use the "adults are against me/wont listen to me/are unreasonable" kind of frustration. And also, this is supposed to be a horror novel but there was pretty much no horror elements until about 4 hours in. Even then it was very mild.
