This is one of those rare books that I really can't find fault with. It's nice and short, a complete story. I never got bored with nor felt like it dragged. The ending was a total surprise, I never would've guessed it.

I will give Gillian Flynn this, she knows how to write good books with a whole pile of terrible characters. This is my second book by Gillian Flynn, the first being Gone Girl. This book in particular is quite disturbing at times, maybe even most of the time. I did enjoy the story even with disliking the characters.
Wow! Sharp Objects was Gillian Flynn's first novel and it is obvious she poured an extraordinary amount of energy into it. It is disturbingly sinister, visceral, and a very very good read. I found it a lot more satisfying than Dark Places, and I found I had a difficult time putting the book down to go to work or for that matter to do anything else. Sharp Objects is a real gem, Constant Reader, so go find yourself a copy right now.

I think this is officially the first actual thriller I've ever read and it was a great introduction for me to the genre. I enjoyed that the FMC was very flawed and realistic.

I enjoyed reading this book, read it in about 6 hours. the book keeps you at the edge of your seat. This is a crime thriller, with a few twists and turns, I had a couple guesses for the who done it half way through the book, but never would have guessed as the end came. I will read again, since I own the book.
Very good book, would recommend to those that enjoy suspense, crime, thriller. FYI. this and Dark Places were written before Gone Girl.
Will read Dark Places next.

Will read Dark Places next.
A captivatingly haunting book that leaves you very uneasy. I loved the pace, writing, complexity and fearlessness in how raw the book is, so that - I would rate 5 out of 5. But did I enjoy the book and see myself reading it again? Hell no. It's just too unsettling and open ended, even a little annoying.
