First of all, this is juvenile fiction. I mean seriously, why am I reading it? And, then, recommending it to everyone I know? Because it is a really fun, enjoyable book set in an interesting world. I kept forgetting that our intrepid heroine was 12 years old. In fact, she could truly be any age.

This reads like a younger teen novel (Stephanie is 12), yet there are some heavy issues brought up (who decides when to start a war?) and it is so humorous that I feel it can be read comfortable by a wide range of ages.
Stephanie and Skullduggery are the main characters and I truly enjoyed both of them. There is no romance between them (YAY) so this is just friendship at this point. These two have some of the funniest banter I have ever read. Their personalities really shine through when they ta ...more

I absolutely loved this book. The dialogue is great. I loved the exchanges between Skulduggery and Stephanie. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
