I am so glad I finally read this. I've been hyping it up in my own head for years and had started to worry I would end up crushed with disappointment, but NOPE. Grace Draven is a gd queen and this book was breathtakingly sweet and beautiful. Brishen and Ildiko are absolutely on my OTP list now. Full review later!

This book felt something like this

I absolutely loved it! It was exactly what I needed right now.
It felt a lot like a fantasy, it had a pretty interesting world builder (although of course, the focus was the romance) and the plot was so much more interesting than I expected. I absolutely loved the names (except Ildiko, that one sounded strange in my mind), think it's one of the few times when I actually thing "wow, this name sounds so damn good!".

Still, what I appreciated the most was the story.

This book was recommended to me and while I found the synopsis interesting, I was a bit hesitant... enemies to lovers can go so wrong, especially when they are forced to marry one another, and I didn't want to dislike this. Let me straighten this situation out in case you have the same concerns: This is a slow burn romance!! Absolutely BEAUT

This was fun.

I would probably never have read it if it hadn't been recommended to me, and I'm so glad it was and I did.

Ildiko is human, with pink skin and red hair.
Brishen is kai, with grey skin and silver hair.

Ildiko thinks Brishen looks like a dead eel; Brishen thinks Ildiko is beyond ugly, with weird, scary eyes.

And they're about to get married.

There are times when you know within a few lines that a book is not for you, and you'd better give up now rather than waste several hours of your li

I've been avoiding this book, despite it having consistently appeared in my recommendations on both Amazon and Goodreads, primarily because the cover was so off-putting to me.

I am so so glad I finally picked it up!

It is so refreshing to read a book about that doesn't start off with the stereotypical hatred between the man and woman who are destined to be together. Instead, despite not being physically attracted to one another, the main characters are kind, friendly, and mutually respectful. Gra
