This book has been on my TBR list for years, so I finally picked it up, and it did not disappoint! I loved the idea of a futuristic retelling of a fairy tale. I really liked this Si-Fi re-telling of Cinderella. I laughed and cried. I loved Cinder. Hated her step mother and the mean sister - they were so heartless and abusive. I love that the prince was a real person. All of the characters were complex and multidimensional. Can't wait to read the next story in this series.

An absolute joy to read. I hadn't read YA in a long while and it was great change of pace for me, and so refreshing. Not much romance but that's what made it a great YA read.
The author created a whole new world, full of wonders and scenery, a very feasible after-war world without going over the top and a sort of new kind of heroine.
The ending was a bit frustrating but I'd say that's what made it a good ending (arghhhhhh...) and now that I know the other books in the series tie up with this one I ...more
