I enjoyed this book, its probably a 3.5 start read for me. I went into it with too high of expectations so it did take me a bit longer to get into it. The story was predictable and the characters are fairly cookie cutter but there is room for a lot of growth in the future novels. I liked the cyborg and other worldly beings as well as the idea of the futuristic world. However, that world was underdeveloped. This book has been on my to read list for a long while now and a book group I'm in picked it for this month's read, so I bought it to join in and was very pleasantly surprised. It is supposed to be a YA book, but it didn't really feel like one. Yes, the main character was young, but not a schoolgirl.

This book left me pleasantly surprised. For all the series hype on booktube, I expected to be disappointed. Not only was I not, infact I went out to buy the second book(breaking my book buying ban). Why cant booktube hyped YA books all be this refreshing..
