I picked up this book because I had read in a "scariest book you've ever read" thread that several people found this one to be terrifying. Honestly, after an initial "oh that could be creepy", I didn't find this very frightening. I think it had elements that could have been quite skin-crawling, but because these moments were so constantly interrupted by text of a different flavor, the fear never really had a chance to settle in for me. (Which is a good and a bad thing I guess!)
