4.5 stars Keri Arthur writes characters that I love to read. They are well developed, quirky, off centered, and snarky, just the way I like them. This series has two witches who are in the lower cast of witches just trying to make a living running a bakery in a small town run by a werewolf pack that hates witches. They bake do simple fortune telling and charms keeping under the radar for many reasons. They are semi hiding from their families. All is going well till, something wicked comes to tow ...more

I enjoyed this. One thing that made this work better for me than some of Arthur's other series, is that instead of getting a lot of lusty inner dialog from the leading lady, that 'id' was split into a separate character. Which left the lead to focus more on what she needed to do in the story - instead of being side tracked by her hormones. ...more

It has been a quite a while since I read a book I knew I was going to reread over and over long before finishing it. I had a bit of trouble reading past 80% because there is no second book out yet. It's not even listed yet. I already knew I was going to need the second book pronto after finishing it.

Normally, I'm not a fan of witch books. Never really been into them with few exceptions. This was one that the blurb sounded so interesting that I read it anyway and am forever grateful that I did. W ...more
